Te Papa is extending its opening hours until 9pm, providing Wellingtonians with an opportunity to enjoy the exhibitions before Wellington’s waterfront is transformed into a vibrant stage for the spectacular Lunar New Year Fireworks Display. The night sky will ignite with a dazzling display to mark the Year of the Horse, 

Alongside extended hours at the Te Papa store, Espresso Café, and current exhibitions, this is an opportunity to hear from internationally acclaimed dancer, choreographer and filmmaker, Daniel Belton, creator of the trilogy of films, 

Daniel will provide some insights into his creative process of development and collaboration with dancers, musicians and digital artists prior to the screening of HORSES, DRAGON and TIGER. 

Following completion of screening of the films, you can enjoy a dragon dance performance in Te Papa’s Wellington foyer before heading outside to view the fireworks display.
