An acclaimed live art event on the Te Whanganui-a-Tara/Wellington Waterfront since 2011, The Performance Arcade provides an exciting programme of works by Aotearoa and international artists, staged within its iconic village of shipping containers.

Opening onto the energy of the waterfront, this innovative space creates new encounters between artists and audiences through live art, music and performance beyond traditional gallery and theatre settings. For Lunar New Year, the site comes alive alongside the DVB (Double Vision Brewing) bar and food trucks and live music by Asian artists setting the tone as communities gather to celebrate creativity, connection and the welcoming of the Year of the Horse—before the evening culminates in the Wellington Lunar New Year Festival Fireworks Display lighting up the harbour.
