A celebration of the Vietnamese Lunar New Year.

An immersive, community-driven celebration inviting New Zealanders from all backgrounds to experience the traditions, flavours, and artistry of the Vietnamese Lunar New Year.

Through food, performances, hands-on workshops, and interactive activities, the festival will be lively, inclusive and family-friendly event celebrating Vietnamese traditions and building lasting community connections.

The programme includes:

Food stalls local Vietnamese vendors offering traditional Lunar New Year dishes and popular Vietnamese street food.

Outdoor stage cultural performances; lion dance, Vietnamese music, and contemporary performances by local Vietnamese artists.

Workshops iconic elements of Vietnamese New Year traditions; paper flower making, lantern making, To He (folk art of shaping rice powder into figurines), Banh Chung making (cooking demonstration and hands-on workshop).

Folk games corner traditional Vietnamese games; Mandarin Square Capturing and Animal Dice Game.
